Waipiata is luxury bed and breakfast accommodation north of Auckland close to Warkworth, Matakana and Orewa and just 30 minutes drive north of Auckland.

It is at the gateway to the beautiful Bay of Islands and the wonderful beaches, vineyards and art galleries of Warkworth, Matakana and Mahurangi.  Close by is Zealandia, Terry Stringer's sculpture park,  Puhoi an historic Bohemian village, Waiwera hot springs and the Brick Bay Sculpture Park.



Waipiata is a secluded haven, 5 acres of peace and tranquillity, bordered by 400 acres of lush farmland, native forest with abundant native birdlife and small coves on the Mahurangi Harbour. Kayaks are available to explore the harbour and there are 10 kilometres of walks on the wider farm.

It is an amazing building which won the architect, Noel Lane, the New Zealand Institute of Architects’ award for Residential Architecture.   The lodge is contemporary and elegant and the guest rooms luxurious and beautifully appointed. All rooms have floor to ceiling glass walls with views of the beautiful harbour, estuary and hills beyond. There are two guest rooms however for a single party booking three rooms are available. All rooms are ensuite with tea making facilities and have large private decks to harbour views.



There is a guest lounge with log fire and a gallery / library and outside a 20 metre lap pool, an architectural feature of the lodge atrium and bush walks.  

We have a commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment and marking this have received the award of EnviroGold. The lodge was designed to be sustainable, maximising the use of passive solar and thermal mass.  Thousands of native trees have been planted, rain water is the sole water supply and waste water is purified and fed back to the land. The large orchard, vegetable and herb gardens are grown using sustainable organic methods and all produce is used in the sumptuous breakfasts that are a feature at Waipiata.
