What Campaign for Action on Family Violence Says:
The Campaign for Action on Family Violence is a New Zealand Government initiative aimed at challenging and addressing the attitudes and behaviours we hold about family violence that allow it to carry on.
The It's Not OK campaign is a community-driven campaign with the simple message that family violence is never OK. The campaign supports community projects in recognition of the fact that societal change takes place at the community level.
One focus of the campaign is on helping people to help each other by teaching and publicising ways that friends, family, workmates, neighbours and other to help families who are experiencing violence, not just during crisis times but before it comes to that.
Visit the website to find out about how you can get involved with eliminating violence in your community and in your own family. Read stories of people who have experienced violence as the violent person or as the victim. Learn strategies for dealing with violence and how you can get help for yourself, your family or someone you know.
