Morrinsville Regional Information

The township of Morrinsville is situated in the Waikato, 33 kilometres northeast of the region's main city, Hamilton. Morrinsville is a service centre for the area's dairy farming industry and was named in honour of the Morrin family, early owners of the land on which the town now stands.

With a population of just over 6,000, the town is home to a number of craftspeople who create pottery, works in stone and paintings. A wander along the town's main street reveals clusters of interesting shops and cafes to cater for all tastes. Alternatively, there are many parks and gardens at which to stop and enjoy a picnic lunch in the fresh air. The local recreation ground boasts an Olympic swimming pool, heated pools and tennis courts.
