Specialists in professional theatre for young audiences. Best known for innovative theatre-in-schools programmes, Calico has performed to thousands of children in primary, intermediate and secondary schools throughout New Zealand, as well as in theatres and festivals.

The theatre's unique Art Deco heritage has been preserved with the addition of modern theatre facilities, making it one of New Zealand's best provincial performing arts centres. National and international performers take the stage at the Napier Municipal Theatre; the theatre is also available as a venue for stage productions, corporate launches and other events.
