Senior Applications Developer - JAVA Job Details

Our Public Sector client seeks an expert Applications Developer with expertise in Java technologies, and a working knowledge of various operating systems including UNIX, Windows and Apple Mac.

You'll be part of a team responsible for the development and support of in-house applications, taking requirements documents and translating these into detailed technical specifications for enhancements to current systems and development of new software components and interfaces.  You'll also provide back-up for the L2 support staff to resolve technical issues. 

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate:

• Proven expertise in applications development utilising Java technologies (Java, JSP, J2EE)
• Experience mentoring junior developers
• Exposure to UNIX, Windows and Apple Mac operating systems
• A high level of understanding of metadata standards
• Domain experience in digital preservation or a related area would be advantageous
