The 2008 New World Netball Championships will see the Silver Ferns take on international teams from Australia and England in five matches throughout New Zealand.

The New World Championship is the biggest annual championship event for netball. The World Championships are held every four years, and will next be held in Singapore in 2011.

The Silver Ferns last competed internationally at the 2007 International World Championships, where they defeated Malawi, Wales, Botswana, South Africa and Jamaica. They unfortunately lost the final with Australia 38-42.

Since 2004, the Silver Ferns have played in over 40 international matches, winning 75% of them. Of those 40, 19 have been against Australia, with 10 wins to our Silver Ladies.

New Zealand will take on Australia first for two matches, on September 17 and then September 20. Three weeks later, they will take on England for three matches, on October 13, 15 and 18.
