Apple-lovers have been drooling over the new iMac and its sleek, aluminium design. Read on to find out what's new about the new iMac computer and what specifications you can expect from the new Apple.
With the newest addition to the Apple family, the new Apple iMac gets a revamped look and a style overhaul, but holds on to the things that have made Apple's computers so popular.
What's new in the new iMac?
The thin-line iMac has been held as the epitome of style in the computer world since the advent of the iMac G5, but the new iMac heralds a new era. The new aluminium and glass aesthetics are the most obvious change in the new iMac computer, but features include:
At a glance, the white iMac and newly released aluminium iMac computer compare favourably in terms of specifications:

The new iMac is different, but it's still the same
Many aspects of the new iMac remain the same. Why change something if it works well? The new iMac retains the specs of the slot-loading 8x SuperDrive, as well as iSight, iChat and the Mighty Mouse. Apple have gone with a safe refresh of a proven formula, so many aspects have stayed the same. This doesn't mean it's not a development; the new iMac has greater performance and a fresh visual style.
This apple is green
Apparently, the new iMac computer is more eco-friendly than its previous incarnations. The new model's aluminium case is fully recyclable and the display now uses glass; a large amount of plastic has been eliminated completely from the design. The new iMac also has a 4 star Energy Rating (the most restrictive), as do all of Apple's current range. It's great to see Apple putting thought into making their products more recyclable and leading the way in green computer technology.
