- Highlanders lost to the Lions; 20-29 in Dunedin
- Brumbies lost to the Chiefs; 28-42 in Canberra
- Force beat the Bulls; 15-14 in Perth
- Hurricanes drew with the Sharks; 13-13 in Wellington
- Waratahs beat the Blues; 37-16 in Sydney
- Cheetahs beat the Reds; 29-14 in Bloemfontein
