- Hurricanes beat the Chiefs; 39-19 in Wellington
- Lions lost to the Force; 16-18 in Johannesburg
- Stormers lost to the Crusaders; 0-22 in Cape Town
- Highlanders lost to the Waratahs; 12-15 in Dunedin
- Brumbies beat the Reds; 43-11 in Canberra
- Cheetahs lost to the Blues; 26-50 in Bloemfontein
- Bulls lost to the Sharks; 15-29 in Pretoria
