NZ LOTTERIES: Where to buy your winning lotto ticket
We all know New Zealand is filled with popular tourist destinations, from mountains to art galleries to historic buildings. Our country is a flurry with travelers from both other NZ cities and international locations, and they may very well have a strange new destination on their ‘to see’ list: a pharmacy in Hastings.
Peter Dunkerley’s Radius Pharmacy is not your standard local chemist - it is also a lotto shop, the luckiest lotto shop in New Zealand to be precise.
The pharmacy has sold 32 first division lotto tickets and 158 second division prizes, the highest paying to date being won on Saturday last week: $1.3 million. The prize was won by visitors from Wellington, who made a special point to buy a ticket from this particular lotto store whilst on their trip to Hastings.
New Zealand has seen several tourists winning lotto in the past year, maybe being in the holiday spirit really does bring good luck (and wealth!).
Natasha Julian, business manager of the store, believes the pharmacy is on the tourist trail for anyone visiting the area - in fact they get busloads of punters every week coming in to buy tickets.
