Fake Fireworks

.!.

Olympics fans across the world were stunned and amazed by the quality of the Olympics opening ceremony on Saturday morning over the weekend – with many noting their favourite segment to be the 28 fireworks footprints leading to Olympic Stadium, signifying the previous 28 modern Olympic Games.

Breaking news this morning just revealed that those fireworks were faked – at least those which millions of viewers saw from home in the televised version. While the Beijing opening ceremony organisers did let off 28 fireworks footprints into the sky leading to the Bird’s Nest, this was not filmed, as they believed it was going to be too dangerous and difficult to have a helicopter following them so low down in the skies.

Instead, a 55-second computer generated sequence was made, taking over a year to compete, which featured camera shake and even Beijing smog to create a realistic and stunning fireworks display.

With some promising efforts from Mahe Drysdale, Emma Twigg and Moss Burmester last night, New Zealand can hope to see its first Olympic Medal in finals over the coming days.

One Response to “Fake Fireworks”

  1. Karen Says:

    Fake fireworks.
This is but another demonstration of one of the nature of the CCP – deception of the masses.
In this instance, the deception was to glorify itself. In attacking its critics, the CCP often labels them as Anti-China or Anti-Chinese…how can it not realise that a stunt such as this, deceiving the whole world with an event that belongs to the rest of the world, does more damage to the reputation and image of Chinese people.
Sadly, this shows yet again the “facade” the CCP would like not only the Chinese people, but the rest of the world to see.
In 1999, in order to justify its bloody and brutal crackdown of Falun Gong, a peaceful spiritual movement based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, the regime widely publicised the “self immolation” of a so called Falun Gong practitioner, the images were blasted throughout China with the CCP controlled media, as well as transmitted to the Western media. This incident was subsequently shown to be staged by the regime, and is currently before the United Nations. (www.falsefire.com).
I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and in explaining the persecution to those around me, I’m often asked…Why does the CCP persecute a group of people who simply practice peaceful meditation and follow the principles of truth, compassion and tolerance?
Well, with this latest “fake fireworks” incident, it’s clearly seen that the regime relies on lies and deception and not truthfulness in order to reaffirm itself, it’s devoid of compassion in the treatment of its people, even the environment, and it shows no tolerance of differing voices or opinions The Chinese Communist Party stands against everything Falun Gong stands for…and this explains why the group is brutally persecuted (http://www.cipfg.org).

It’s time people around the world and Chinese people themselves wake up to this deceitful regime..
